What we do with your data.
mirrento.com has no sign-up form. We get your details only when you buy through Lemon Squeezy, when you activate the Mac app, or when you write to us. We use them to run your license and to email you about Mirrento. That's it.
Who is "we"
Asio Services, SAS, 6 rue d'Armaillé, 75017 Paris, France, SIREN 903 031 458. Contact: hello@mirrento.com. Asio Services is the data controller for this data.
When you buy
Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record: it takes your payment, handles tax and sends your invoices. When you place an order, Lemon Squeezy shares the order details with us: your name, your email address, the plan and its price, your country and tax details as Lemon Squeezy reports them, and your license key. We see them in our Lemon Squeezy dashboard and in the sale notification. Lemon Squeezy also notifies our server of the order (your email and the license status), which passes your email to Kit.
Your license
- What the app sends: to activate your license, the app sends your license key and this Mac's name to Lemon Squeezy. After that, about once a day while you are online, it sends the key and this Mac's activation ID to check the license is still valid.
- Your Mac's name: it is the Computer Name set in System Settings → General → Sharing, and it often contains your own name. It shows in our Lemon Squeezy dashboard, so you and we can tell which Mac to deactivate. If you'd rather not share it, change the Computer Name there before you activate.
- Lost activations: if you deactivate a Mac whose activation ID was lost, the app sends your key to our server (mirrento.com), which asks Lemon Squeezy to free every activation of that key.
- On your Mac: the key is stored in the macOS keychain. A file,
license.json, keeps the license status, plan, expiry date, this Mac's activation ID and name, and when the license was last checked. Never the key. - Why: activation, support and billing.
- How long: as long as your license exists. Lemon Squeezy keeps its own records as Merchant of Record: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
- Access or deletion: write to hello@mirrento.com.
The Mac app
- Voice follow runs on your Mac. It uses Apple speech recognition in on-device mode. Your voice is not sent anywhere for it.
- What the mic heard is deleted as soon as voice follow stops. The log of a take keeps positions and timings only, never the words.
- Your recordings stay on your Mac, as audio files in your Scripts folder. We never receive them.
- The camera is a preview only. It is not recorded and not sent anywhere.
- Your scripts are files on your Mac.
The app connects to the internet only for this:
- Lemon Squeezy: license activation and checks (see above).
- mirrento.com, hosted on Microsoft Azure: update checks (
appcast.xml, with no system profile), update downloads, the trial link (checkout.json, about every 6 hours), and the activation reset above. - cdn.tailwindcss.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net: two interface libraries, downloaded once, checked against a fixed fingerprint, then kept on your Mac.
- PostHog (EU): anonymous usage stats, only if you say yes. The app asks once ("Help improve Mirrento?"); until you answer Yes it sends nothing to PostHog. If you say yes, each event carries a random install ID and the app version, and the events are: app launched (with the macOS version), license status (needs a key, valid, grace or frozen), update applied (old and new app version), script created (nothing else), prompter opened (full screen, window or overlay), voice follow used (which speech engine). Never anything you typed: no script text, no titles, no Source field, no notes, no name, no email, no audio. Like any server, PostHog sees your IP address when an event arrives. Change your answer any time in the app's settings, under Privacy: "Share anonymous usage stats".
Nothing else leaves your Mac.
Who actually stores your data
We use eight third-party processors. Here is what each one touches:
- Kit (ConvertKit): stores your email address and customer status once you place an order. Data processor for our emails about Mirrento. kit.com/privacy.
- Lemon Squeezy: Merchant of Record. Processes your payment, handles billing and tax, stores your order, and runs license activation. It shares your order details with us (see "When you buy"). lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
- Microsoft Azure: hosts this site, the app downloads, the update feed, and the small server functions behind them (order notifications, activation reset). Like any host, it keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address. Our order function logs the type and ID of each order event, never your email. Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- SimpleLogin: forwards the emails you send to hello@mirrento.com to our inbox. simplelogin.io/privacy.
- PostHog: anonymous usage stats in the Mac app, EU servers, only if you say yes in the app (see "The Mac app"). posthog.com/privacy.
- Microsoft Clarity: anonymised heatmaps and session analytics on this site. IP addresses are masked; Clarity does not identify you personally. Loaded only after you accept analytics cookies. Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Google Analytics 4: anonymised traffic statistics. It runs in Consent Mode: until you accept analytics cookies it sends no cookies and only cookieless pings; after you accept, standard GA measurement applies. We do not enable Google Signals, ads, or cross-site personalization. Google Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: privacy-first, aggregate traffic counts (page views, referrers, country). It uses no cookies, no localStorage, and no fingerprinting, collects no personal data, and therefore runs without a consent prompt (CNIL/GDPR cookie-exempt). About Cloudflare Web Analytics.
None of these processors receive more data than they need for their stated purpose, and none are authorised to use it for their own marketing.
What we will never do
- Sell your data, rent it, or share it with third parties other than the processors listed above.
- Email you more than ~1–2 times per month, and only about Mirrento.
- Use advertising trackers, pixels, or fingerprinting to follow you across the web.
Your rights (GDPR)
- Unsubscribe: every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe. Clicking it immediately removes you from the list.
- Access / deletion: reply to any email we send (or write to hello@mirrento.com) and we will hard-delete your record from Kit within 7 days. For your license, we tell you what we hold, deactivate your Macs, and ask Lemon Squeezy to delete your order data. Lemon Squeezy remains the controller of your payment data and keeps what the law requires it to keep.
- Portability: same channel, we'll send you a JSON export of what we have on you.
- Complaint: if we mishandle this, you can file with the CNIL.
Retention
We keep your email as long as you stay subscribed. Unsubscribe = deletion within 30 days (Kit holds the unsubscribed record briefly to honor the unsubscribe across campaigns, then purges). If Mirrento gets abandoned, the whole list is deleted within 90 days.
License data is kept as long as your license exists, plus what Lemon Squeezy keeps as Merchant of Record.
Cookies on this site
No cookies run until you choose. On your first visit a banner lets you Accept all or Continue without accepting: both one click, same weight. Only if you accept do we set analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity). No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking. You can change your mind anytime via Cookie settings in the footer; clearing your cookies also resets the choice and nothing breaks.
Separately, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic visitor counts. Because it sets no cookies and collects no personal data, it needs no consent and is exempt from the cookie banner. It cannot be used to identify or track you.
If we change this policy
We'll update the "updated" date at the top. Material changes get announced by email to the list.
